Melusine Arwen

Melusine Arwen

As a self-taught artist, I cultivate all facets of fantasy and esoteric worlds.
Why the name Mélusine Arwen? Because it combines medieval fantasy (the legend of Mélusine) and contemporary fantasy (Tolkien's Lord of the Rings).

Two legendary, mysterious women who transgress the rules of society in the name of love.

They are the subject of an academic essay by Myriam White Le Goff.
I take you into a paradoxical universe, both dark and colorful, revisiting myths with a modern twist.
I sprinkle natural elements (flowers, animals), goddesses and esoteric symbols into my illustrations, offering you a story to decipher, in the vein of the symbolism of Gustave Moreau or Odilon Redon, who are my sources of inspiration.
My techniques are a mix of drawing, watercolor, ballpoint and digital retouching.
Tarot and oracle imagery naturally interest me. Through illustration, the cards tell a story, as do the myths, blending universal and individual history.
