Sophie Oxéant

Sophie Oxéant is an illustrator living and working in and around Paris.
Trained as a visual artist and with a degree in children's literature, her work has naturally turned towards images, and more specifically illustration, which she loves as much for its narrative power and evocative potential as for its decorative dimension.

Influenced by modern painting, she paints brightly colored images in gouache, combining a sense of detail and gestural effects in vibrant compositions. Her pictorial universe is essentially inspired by nature, the living, the organic.

Single or multiple, still or animated, serial or sequential, her images oscillate between painting and illustration.
